    This is not brocade, it is tapestry

    I love brocade, the satin-y, silky fabric with a print woven in. This is not brocade, it is tapestry which is not the same thing.

    Brocade is a lightweight, luxurious, and non-reversible fabric featuring an embossed, raised pattern—often created with metallic threads. Tapestry, on the other hand, is a much heavier, firm, and durable material traditionally used for wall hangings and pictorial designs.

    As a result of this difference, the fabric of the pants is thick and bulky like a carpet bag. They are also quite long. They are too thick to hem on my own and I wouldn't bother taking them to a tailor.

    I really wish I'd fine-tuned the resolution on my monitor before purchasing these thinking they were brocade. They are final sale so I will wait until fall to see if someone else wants to buy these.

    It pays to know the meaning of fabric types when buying online. I wish Akira knew better.

    Heavy material and runs small in the waist

    The material is very heavy and thick. I’m sad I won’t be able to wear this because it runs small around the waist and there is no stretch.

    Heavy, lux fabric. Pants are lined and look expensive. No stretch at all. If you are a curvy girl (thighs, hips, rear) size UP! You can’t go wrong as long as you size up.
